Directions for Use & Wound Dressing Protocol

For topical cutaneous application on dogs only:

1. Fur Trimming & Cleansing: Gently clip surrounding hair away from the wound perimeter to prevent fur from matting into the lesion. Flush the wound thoroughly with sterile saline or dilute povidone-iodine wash to dislodge dirt, loose dead tissue, and surface maggots. Gently pat dry with sterile gauze.

2. Can Preparation: Shake the D-Mag can well before each application.

3. Application Technique: Hold the can upright at a distance of 10 to 15 cm from the wound surface. Spray evenly until the entire raw cavity and surrounding margins are covered with a thin, uniform film.

4. Deep Sinus Application: In deep maggot cavities, direct the spray nozzle carefully into the wound opening to ensure the active ingredients reach burrowing larvae.

5. Dosing Frequency: Apply 3 to 4 times daily in active maggot infestations, or 1 to 2 times daily for fly prevention on healing wounds, until clean pink granulation tissue forms and the skin closes.

6. Post-Application Monitoring: Prevent the dog from licking the wound for 10 to 15 minutes until dry. Use an Elizabethan collar (e-collar) or a breathable protective bandage. Continue spraying for 2 to 3 days after all visible maggots have surfaced and cleared.

Critical Safety Warnings, Contraindications & Storage

• CRITICAL FELINE CONTRAINDICATION (DEADLY TO CATS): DO NOT USE ON CATS. Cats are sensitive to organochlorines (Gamma Benzene Hexachloride/Lindane) and volatile turpentine/essential oils, which can cause severe neurotoxicity (muscle tremors, hypothermia, convulsions, and death).

• Avoid Eyes and Mucous Membranes: Do not spray near the dog's eyes, nostrils, mouth, or inside the ear canal. Protect facial features with a cloth or hand during application.

• Flammable Aerosol Caution: Pressurized container. Keep away from heat, sparks, open flames, and direct sunlight. Do not puncture, incinerate, or spray near electrical equipment.

• Use in Well-Ventilated Areas: Apply outdoors or in well-ventilated rooms to prevent inhalation of volatile solvent mists.

• Licking Prevention: Ingesting large amounts of wet spray can cause salivation or gastrointestinal upset. Ensure the spray has dried, or fit an Elizabethan collar.

• Storage: Store below 30°C in a cool, dry place away from direct heat and sunlight. Keep strictly out of reach of children and domestic pets.
