Veterinary Teleconsultation

10.1 Nature of the service

PetMitra may facilitate consultations through video, audio, telephone, chat or other supported electronic communication.

The veterinarian independently determines whether teleconsultation is clinically appropriate and legally permissible.

10.2 Limitations

A remote consultation may not permit complete physical examination, palpation, auscultation, immediate diagnostic testing or direct measurement of all clinical parameters.

A diagnosis or prescription may require modification after physical examination or additional tests.

10.3 Prescription

A veterinarian may issue a prescription only where clinically appropriate and legally permissible.

The prescription must identify the actual prescribing professional as required by law.

10.4 Emergency care

Teleconsultation must not delay emergency treatment. Severe breathing difficulty, collapse, seizures, uncontrolled bleeding, suspected poisoning, severe trauma or other potentially life-threatening conditions require immediate in-person veterinary attention.

10.5 User responsibilities

The User must provide accurate medical history, current medicines, allergies, weight, symptoms, reports and other requested information.

10.6 Consultation refund

If a consultation is cancelled by PetMitra or the Consultant and is not provided, the User will ordinarily be offered rescheduling or an appropriate refund.

If a consultation cannot be completed because of a verified technical failure attributable to the Platform, PetMitra will assess rescheduling or a refund.

A completed consultation is not automatically refundable merely because the User disagrees with the professional opinion or the pet does not recover. This does not exclude a remedy for deficient service or other rights available under applicable law.

10.7 Professional responsibility

The veterinarian remains responsible for their own professional decisions to the extent provided by law. PetMitra remains responsible for its own legal obligations and the functions it actually performs.

10.8 Consent

The User must accept the Teleconsultation Terms and acknowledge the limitations before final booking/payment.
