Clinical Veterinary Indications

• Nasal Hyperkeratosis: Thick, dry, overgrown, horn-like keratin crusts on the dorsal nasal planum (frequently seen in Pugs, Bulldogs, Boxers, and senior dogs).

• Pedal Hyperkeratosis & Pad Fissuring: Hard, rough, cracked, or bleeding foot pads resulting from intense activity, rough terrain, or aging.

• Pressure Point Calluses (Hygromas): Thickened, hairless, leathery calluses on the point of the elbow, hocks, or sternum in large/giant breeds.

• Pre- and Post-Outing Paw Protection: Shielding paws before and after hikes, agility training, canicross, or daily walks on hot tarmac, gravel, or icy ground.

• Interdigital Erythema & Friction Chafing: Redness, heat, and irritation within the interdigital webbing between the toes.

Directions for Use & Application Protocol

For external topical application on dogs (recommended for puppies over 3 months of age and adult dogs):

Application Steps:

1. Cleanse the Area: Gently wipe away dirt, dust, mud, or road grit using a clean, damp cloth. Pat dry thoroughly with a towel.

2. Dispense: Scoop a small amount of BIO BALM® onto a clean fingertip. (The balm has a rich texture that gently melts upon contact with skin temperature).

3. Application by Target Zone:

   • Nose Leather: Gently massage a small dab directly onto the dry, crusty nasal planum. Best applied at night before bedtime to allow maximum undisturbed absorption.

   • Paw Pads: Rub a thin, even layer across all pad surfaces and work gently into cracks.

   • Interdigital Webbing: Carefully smooth a small dab between the toes to calm friction redness.

   • Elbow Calluses: Massage firmly into hard, leathery elbow calluses to stimulate circulation and soften keratin deposits.

4. Before and After Outings:

   • Apply a protective layer before walks to create a protective barrier against hot asphalt, gravel, or wet conditions.

   • Reapply a thin layer after walks to soothe friction heat and promote recovery.

5. Frequency: Apply once to several times daily as needed until the skin returns to a soft, supple condition.

• External Topical Use Only: Formulated for topical cutaneous use on dogs. Avoid direct contact with the pet’s eyes.

• Non-Infected Calluses Only: Do not apply directly inside active, weeping, deep bacterial ulcers or infected, bleeding abscesses without prior veterinary antimicrobial intervention.
