Clinical Indications

• Urinary Tract Infections (UTIs): Acute and recurrent bacterial cystitis, pyelonephritis, and prostatitis (principally caused by E. coli, Proteus mirabilis, Klebsiella pneumoniae).

• Dermatological & Soft Tissue Infections: Deep pyoderma, furunculosis, impetigo, folliculitis, infected bite wounds, surgical incisions, and abscesses (Staphylococcus pseudintermedius, Pasteurella multocida).

• Respiratory Infections: Secondary bacterial bronchitis, tracheobronchitis (complex kennel cough), and bronchopneumonia (Bordetella bronchiseptica, Klebsiella spp.).

• Otic Infections: Chronic bacterial otitis externa and otitis media (Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus spp.).

• Gastrointestinal & Hepatobiliary Infections: Severe bacterial enteritis and cholangiohepatitis.

Dosage & Administration Guidelines

Administer orally once daily (or divided twice daily) strictly as directed by your veterinarian based on a clinical diagnosis or culture sensitivity test:

• Standard Therapeutic Dosage Rate: The general veterinary dose ranges from 5 mg/kg body weight once daily up to 10–20 mg/kg once daily for severe, deep-seated tissue or Pseudomonas infections as determined by a veterinarian.

• Typical Weight-Based Guide (at standard 5 mg/kg dose):

  • 15 kg Dog: 1/2 Tablet once daily

  • 30 kg Dog: 1 Tablet once daily

  • 45 kg Dog: 1.5 Tablets once daily

  • 60 kg Dog: 2 Tablets once daily

  • (For dogs under 15 kg or cats, the lower-strength Bayrocin 50mg tablet is clinically recommended to ensure accurate dosing).

• Administration Instructions:

  • Can be given directly by hand or disguised inside a small treat.

  • Avoid Dairy / Calcium Interactions: Do not administer simultaneously with milk, cheese, curd, sucralfate, or calcium/iron supplements, as multivalent cations chelate enrofloxacin and reduce its systemic absorption. Give at least 2 hours apart.

• Course Duration:

  • Administer for the complete prescribed duration (typically 5 to 10 consecutive days, or extending 2 to 3 days past the complete resolution of clinical signs).

  • Never stop the course prematurely, even if visible symptoms disappear, as incomplete courses trigger persistent bacterial relapse and antimicrobial resistance.

Safety Warnings, Precautions & Storage

• CARTILAGE WARNING IN GROWING PUPPIES: Strictly contraindicated in growing puppies and young dogs. Enrofloxacin induces arthropathy, articular cartilage erosions, and permanent joint damage in weight-bearing joints during rapid growth phases.

  • Do not use in small/medium breeds under 8–12 months of age.

  • Do not use in large and giant breeds under 18 months of age.

• Feline Precaution: Do NOT administer this 150mg dog tablet to cats. High or inaccurate enrofloxacin dosing in felines can induce irreversible retinal degeneration and acute blindness. Use species-specific, low-dose Bayrocin 50mg under veterinary direction for cats.

• Central Nervous System (CNS) Warning: Use with caution in dogs with known seizure disorders or central nervous system impairment, as fluoroquinolones can lower the seizure threshold.

• Pregnancy & Lactation: Safety has not been established in pregnant or lactating bitches; avoid unless explicitly deemed essential by the attending veterinarian.

• Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from excessive heat and direct sunlight. Keep strictly out of reach of children and domestic pets.
