Safety Warnings, Precautions & Contraindications

• STRICT FELINE WARNING (DO NOT USE IN CATS WITHOUT EXPLICIT VET RX): Cats are deficient in glucuronide conjugation pathways and are extremely sensitive to NSAID toxicity. Inappropriate or repeated canine-dose administration in cats causes acute renal failure and can be fatal. For felines, consult a veterinarian for dedicated feline-labeled analgesics.

• Do Not Combine NSAIDs or Steroids: Never administer Melonex alongside other NSAIDs (carprofen, firocoxib) or systemic corticosteroids (prednisolone, dexamethasone). Concurrent use significantly increases the risk of severe gastrointestinal ulceration and renal toxicity.

• Pre-Existing Organ Conditions: Contraindicated in pets with active gastrointestinal ulceration, severe hepatic impairment, cardiac disease, or renal insufficiency.
