Directions for Use & Step-by-Step Application Protocol

For topical cutaneous application in dogs only under veterinary supervision:

1. Cleanse & Expose the Skin: Gently clear crusts, dirt, and dander with a damp cloth or saline wash and pat dry. Part the coat to ensure the mist reaches the skin directly rather than sitting on top of the fur.

2. Shake the Bottle: Shake the bottle thoroughly before every application to evenly disperse the nano-lipid vesicles.

3. Application Technique: Hold the spray nozzle 5 to 10 cm from the affected lesion. Depress the pump to coat the inflamed area with a fine, uniform mist.

4. Frequency & Dosage:

   • Active Flare-Up Phase: Apply twice daily (every 12 hours) until clinical signs (erythema and itching) improve.

   • Maintenance / Tapering Phase: Once under control, reduce frequency to once daily, then 2 to 3 times weekly, as advised by your veterinarian to prevent allergic relapses.

5. Prevent Licking (Crucial Step): Prevent your dog from licking the treated area for 5 to 10 minutes until dry. Keep the dog distracted with a short walk, a toy, or fit an Elizabethan collar (e-collar).

6. Avoid Ingestion: Ingesting wet spray can cause transient drooling or mild stomach upset due to its bitter taste.

• Active Untreated Infections Warning: Do not apply over areas with active, untreated bacterial pyoderma, oozing abscesses, or fungal ringworm lesions. As a local immunomodulator, tacrolimus can impair local defense against active pathogens. Clear concurrent bacterial/fungal infections first using appropriate antimicrobial washes (such as Intas Conaseb or Intas Micodin) or antibiotics (Intas Cefpet) before starting Takfa.

• Species Specificity: Formulated and evaluated specifically for canine dermatology. Do not use on cats without explicit instruction from your veterinarian.

• Avoid Ocular & Mucosal Contact: Do not spray into eyes, nostrils, or directly inside the mouth or ear canals. In case of accidental contact, flush immediately with sterile saline or clean water.

• Transient Sensation: Mild, brief tingling or increased licking desire may occur immediately after spraying as the nano-vesicles absorb. This usually subsides within a few minutes.
