• Active Ingredient: Chlorhexidine Gluconate Solution IP equivalent to Chlorhexidine Gluconate 4% w/v.

• Carrier Base: Aqueous Tris-EDTA spray conditioner base with skin-soothing excipients (q.s.).

• Drug Class: Topical Bisbiguanide Antiseptic & Antimicrobial Potentiator.

• Mechanism of Action: Chlorhexidine carries a positive cationic charge that binds strongly to negatively charged bacterial and fungal cell membranes. This induces cell wall lysis, cytoplasmic leakage, and rapid precipitation of cellular proteins. Concurrently, Tromethamine (Tris) and Disodium EDTA chelate metal cations, perforating microbial cell envelopes and destroying biofilms, thereby enhancing Chlorhexidine's antimicrobial activity.

Step-by-Step Directions for Use

1. Prepare the Lesion: Gently clean excess crusts or dirt around the affected area with warm water and pat dry. If hair is heavily matted over a weeping hot spot, carefully trim the excess hair to expose the skin.

2. Shake the Bottle: Shake well before application.

3. Targeted Spraying: Hold the spray nozzle 10 to 15 cm away from the skin. Spray directly onto the affected lesion, rash, or interdigital paw space until the area is evenly moistened.

4. Gentle Massage / Absorption: Gently part the hair to allow the liquid to contact the dermal surface. Do not rinse or wash off—Chevik is formulated as a leave-on conditioner.

5. Prevent Licking: Distract your pet with a treat, chew toy, or brief walk for 10 to 15 minutes while the solution dries to prevent immediate licking of the treated area.

6. Multi-Modal Therapy: For pets with widespread, whole-body skin conditions, use Chevik Shampoo for weekly whole-body baths and Chevik Spray for daily spot maintenance on stubborn lesions between bath days.

Recommended Usage Frequency

• Active Hot Spots & Paw Dermatitis: Apply 1 to 2 times daily directly to the affected spots until lesions are dry and healed.

• Pyoderma & Yeast Maintenance: Apply once daily or every alternate day as directed by your veterinary practitioner.
