Dosage & Administration Guidelines

Administer strictly according to your veterinarian’s written prescription and weight calculations.

• Target Therapeutic Dose: The standard clinical dosage for canine atopic dermatitis is 5 mg/kg body weight once daily.

• Weight-Based Dosing Guide (100 mg Capsule):

  • 15 kg to < 29 kg: 1 capsule (100 mg) once daily.

  • 29 kg to < 36 kg: 1 capsule (100 mg) + 1 capsule (50 mg) once daily (as directed by your vet).

  • 36 kg to < 55 kg: 2 capsules (200 mg) once daily.

  • 55 kg and above: Dose calculated precisely by your veterinarian.

• Administration Timing:

  • For optimal bioavailability, administer on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before a meal or 2 hours after feeding).

  • Tip for Sensitive Stomachs: If your dog experiences mild nausea or soft stools, temporarily administering the capsule with a small spoonful of food or chilling the capsules in the refrigerator prior to administration can help ease digestive sensitivity.

• Treatment Protocol & Tapering:

  • Initial Phase: Administer once daily for 4 to 6 weeks until clinical lesions and itching improve significantly.

  • Maintenance Phase: Once itching is controlled, your vet may taper administration to every other day, and eventually to twice weekly for ongoing maintenance.

• Do Not Split or Puncture: Capsules must be swallowed whole to preserve microemulsion delivery; do not cut, crush, or dissolve.

Safety Warnings, Precautions & Storage

• Prescription Mandatory: This is a potent immunomodulating drug. Use strictly under close veterinary supervision.

• Clear Co-Existing Infections: Active secondary bacterial pyoderma, Malassezia yeast dermatitis, and flea infestations must be addressed before or concurrently with immunosuppressive therapy.

• Vaccination Caution: Avoid administering modified live vaccines immediately before, during, or right after high-dose cyclosporine therapy.

• Contraindications: Do not use in dogs with a history of malignant neoplasia or known hypersensitivity to cyclosporine. Not recommended for dogs under 6 months of age or weighing less than 2 kg.

• Adverse Reactions: Mild, transient vomiting or soft stools may occur during the first week and usually resolve spontaneously. Gingival hyperplasia (gum enlargement) or hypertrichosis (excessive hair growth) may rarely occur with long-term therapy.

• Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from heat, direct sunlight, and excessive moisture. Keep blister strip sealed until dose time. Keep out of reach of children and household pets.
