Dosage & Administration Guidelines

Administer strictly according to your veterinarian’s written prescription and weight chart.

• Target Therapeutic Dose: The standard clinical dosage for canine atopic dermatitis is 5 mg/kg body weight once daily.

• Weight-Based Dosing Guide (50 mg Capsule):

  • 8 kg to < 15 kg: 1 capsule (50 mg) once daily.

  • 15 kg to < 29 kg: 2 capsules (100 mg) once daily (or as prescribed by your vet).

  • 29 kg to < 36 kg: 3 capsules (150 mg) once daily.

• Administration Timing:

  • For optimal absorption, administer on an empty stomach (at least 1 hour before a meal or 2 hours after feeding).

  • Tip for Sensitive Stomachs: If your dog experiences mild nausea or vomiting, temporarily giving the dose with a small spoonful of food or chilling the capsules in the refrigerator prior to administration helps reduce gastric sensitivity.

• Treatment Course & Tapering:

  • Initial Phase: Administer daily for 4 to 6 weeks until clinical signs improve.

  • Maintenance Phase: Once itching and lesions are controlled, your vet may taper administration to every other day, and eventually to twice weekly for long-term maintenance.

• Do Not Split: Capsules should be swallowed whole; do not cut, crush, or open them.

Safety Warnings, Precautions & Storage

• Prescription Mandatory: This is a potent immunomodulating medication. Use strictly under veterinary supervision.

• Clear Co-Existing Infections: Active secondary bacterial pyoderma, Malassezia yeast dermatitis, and ectoparasite infestations must be treated before or concurrently with immunosuppressive therapy.

• Vaccination Caution: Avoid administering modified live vaccines immediately before, during, or right after high-dose cyclosporine therapy.

• Contraindications: Do not use in dogs with a history of malignant neoplasia or known hypersensitivity to cyclosporine. Not recommended for dogs under 6 months of age or weighing less than 2 kg.

• Adverse Reactions: Mild, transient vomiting or soft stools may occur during the first week and typically resolve on their own. Gingival hyperplasia (gum enlargement) or hypertrichosis (excessive hair growth) may rarely occur with long-term therapy.

• Storage: Store below 25°C in a dry place. Protect from heat, direct sunlight, and excessive moisture. Keep blister strip sealed until dose time. Keep out of reach of children and household pets.
