Active Composition & Mechanism of Action

• Active Ingredient: Enrofloxacin 50 mg per tablet.

• Drug Class: Fluoroquinolone Antibiotic.

• Mode of Action: Enrofloxacin penetrates bacterial cell walls and binds selectively to bacterial enzyme systems (DNA gyrase / Topoisomerase II & IV). This stops DNA supercoiling and replication, causing rapid bacterial cell death (bactericidal action).

Dosage & Administration Guidelines

Administer strictly under veterinary prescription and guidance.

• Standard Dosage: Orally at 5 mg per kg body weight once daily (or split into two equal doses of 2.5 mg/kg every 12 hours as advised by the veterinarian).

• Treatment Duration: Typically 3 to 5 days, or continued for 48 hours after clinical symptoms have resolved. Severe or chronic infections may require a longer course under veterinary review.

• Method: Can be administered directly into the mouth or crushed and mixed with a small treat or meal.

• Age Restrictions in Dogs: Do not use in growing puppies under 1 year of age (or large/giant breeds under 18 months), as fluoroquinolones may cause cartilage damage (arthropathy) in developing weight-bearing joints.
