• Active Ingredient: Cyclosporine IP (Modified) 100 mg per soft gelatin capsule.

• Therapeutic Class: Calcineurin Inhibitor / Immunosuppressant / Immunomodulator.

• Mechanism of Action: Cyclosporine binds intracellularly to cyclophilin to form a complex that inhibits calcineurin—a calcium-dependent phosphatase. This blockade prevents the dephosphorylation and nuclear translocation of NF-AT (nuclear factor of activated T-cells), inhibiting the gene transcription of Interleukin-2 (IL-2) and other cytokines. As a result, T-cell activation, eosinophil recruitment, and mast cell degranulation are suppressed, stopping allergic inflammation at the immunological root.

Dosage & Administration Guidelines

• Treatment Timeline & Tapering: Initial clinical improvement is typically seen within 3 to 4 weeks. Once pruritus and skin lesions are satisfactorily controlled (usually after 4–8 weeks), your veterinarian may taper the dosage to alternate days or twice weekly to determine the minimal effective maintenance dose.

• Do Not Stop Abruptly: Discontinuing therapy suddenly can cause a rapid resurgence of allergic inflammation and severe pruritus.
