Active Composition & Biological Mechanism

• Active Ingredient: Oclacitinib Maleate equivalent to Oclacitinib 16 mg per tablet.

• Inactive Excipients: Microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate.

• Therapeutic Class: Janus Kinase (JAK) Inhibitor / Targeted Antipruritic Agent.

• Mechanism of Action: Allergic itching is triggered when pruritogenic cytokines (such as IL-31, IL-2, IL-4, and IL-13) bind to neuronal and immune cell receptors. Oclacitinib blocks the intracellular phosphorylation of JAK-1 enzymes, stopping cytokine-mediated signal transduction. This halts itch signals before they reach the central nervous system and suppresses localized dermal inflammation.

Dosage & Administration Guidelines

Administer strictly according to your veterinarian's weight-based calculation (typically 0.4 to 0.6 mg/kg).

• Standard Dosing Protocol:

  • Loading / Induction Phase: Administered twice daily (every 12 hours) for the first 14 days.

  • Maintenance Phase: Reduced to once daily (every 24 hours) thereafter for ongoing control, as directed by your vet.

• Administration: May be given directly by mouth or hidden in a small portion of wet or dry food. Food does not impair drug absorption.

• Missed Dose Protocol: If a dose is missed, administer it as soon as remembered. If it is close to the next scheduled dose, skip the missed dose and resume the normal schedule. Never double up doses.

Contraindications & Precautions
