Active Composition & Mechanism of Action

• Active Ingredient: Oclacitinib Maleate equivalent to Oclacitinib 5.4 mg per tablet.

• Pharmacological Class: Janus Kinase (JAK) Inhibitor / Targeted Antipruritic Agent.

• Mechanism of Action: In allergic dogs, environmental or food allergens trigger pro-inflammatory and pruritogenic cytokines—most notably Interleukin-31 (IL-31)—to bind to cell receptors. This binding activates the intracellular JAK-1 enzyme pathway, transmitting the severe itch signal to the nervous system. Oclacitinib selectively inhibits JAK-1 phosphorylation, neutralizing IL-31 signal transduction and breaking the itch-scratch cycle without suppressing broad immune health.

Dosage & Administration Guidelines

Administer strictly according to your veterinarian's prescription (standard dose: 0.4 to 0.6 mg/kg).

• Standard Dosing Protocol:

  • Induction / Loading Phase: Administered twice daily (every 12 hours) for up to 14 days.

  • Maintenance Phase: Reduced to once daily (every 24 hours) for long-term control as directed by your vet.

• How to Administer: Can be offered directly by mouth or concealed inside a treat, cheese, or wet food. Can be given with or without food.

• Missed Dose: Give the missed dose as soon as remembered on the same day. Do not double up doses if close to the next scheduled administration.

• Monitoring Tip: Maintain a simple 1–10 daily itch score during the first two weeks to help your vet identify the lowest effective maintenance dose.
