Directions for Use & Bathing Protocol

For topical dermal bathing on dogs only:

1. Thorough Coat Wetting: Saturate your dog's entire coat with lukewarm water from neck to base of tail. For double-coated breeds, part the fur to ensure water reaches the skin surface.

2. Targeted Application & Lather: Apply an adequate volume (approximately 5ml per 5kg body weight) starting from the neck and working backward. Massage thoroughly against the direction of hair growth to work the shampoo down to the dermis.

3. Pay Attention to High-Risk Zones: Massage lather into common tick and yeast harboring areas:

   • Neck folds and behind the ears (avoiding the ear canal)

   • Armpits (axillae) and groin (inguinal folds)

   • Interdigital paw spaces and the base of the tail

4. MANDATORY CONTACT TIME (5 to 10 Minutes): Allow the lather to remain on the coat for a full 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing. (Permethrin and Miconazole require this contact time to paralyze parasites and penetrate fungal cell walls).

5. Thorough Rinsing: Rinse thoroughly with running water until the runoff is completely clear of foam.

6. Drying & Post-Bath Isolation: Towel dry thoroughly with clean cotton towels. Keep the dog indoors and separated from other household pets—especially cats—until completely dry.

7. Bathing Frequency: Bathe 2 to 3 times weekly initially for active mixed conditions, stepping down to once weekly or biweekly as lesions clear.

Safety Warnings, Precautions & Contraindications

• CRITICAL FELINE TOXICITY WARNING (NEVER USE ON CATS): Permethrin is toxic to cats. Felines lack the hepatic glucuronosyltransferase enzymes required to metabolize permethrin, leading to severe neurotoxicity (muscle tremors, hyperexcitability, seizures, and death). Never use Softas Max on cats. In multi-pet homes, keep treated dogs strictly separated from cats until the dog's coat is dry to prevent cats from grooming the fur.

• Age & Nursing Restrictions: Do not use on puppies under 3 months of age or on pregnant or nursing bitches.

• Avoid Eyes and Mucous Membranes: Avoid contact with eyes, nose, and mouth. If contact occurs, flush immediately with copious clean water.

• Prevent Ingestion: Prevent dogs from licking the wet shampoo lather during the bath.

• Storage: Store below 25°C in a cool, dry place protected from direct sunlight and heat. Keep the bottle tightly capped and out of reach of children and domestic pets.
