Active Composition & Pharmacological Synergy

• Miconazole Nitrate IP: 2% w/v

• Chlorhexidine Gluconate Solution IP equivalent to Chlorhexidine Gluconate: 2% w/v

• Excipients & Base: Aqueous soothing topical vehicle q.s.

• Mechanism of Synergy: Chlorhexidine alters the permeability of microbial outer membranes, creating microscopic pore lesions. This allows Miconazole to penetrate fungal cells more rapidly, where it inhibits the cytochrome P450 14α-lanosterol demethylase enzyme. The resulting depletion of ergosterol and accumulation of toxic methylated sterols destroys the fungal cell membrane, stopping reproduction and infection spread.

Step-by-Step Directions for Use

1. Clean the Affected Area: Gently remove surface crusts, scales, or dirt with a damp cloth and pat dry. If hair is heavily matted over the lesion, carefully trim around the area to expose the skin.

2. Shake Well: Shake the bottle thoroughly before each application.

3. Apply the Spray: Hold the nozzle roughly 10 to 15 cm from the lesion. Part the fur and spray directly onto the infected area until the skin is evenly moist.

4. Gentle Massage: Gently rub or pat the solution in with a gloved hand to ensure complete dermal contact. Do not rinse or wash off.

5. Prevent Licking: Distract your pet for 10 to 15 minutes with a chew toy, treat, or short walk until the area air-dries completely. Use an Elizabethan collar if your pet insists on licking.

6. Application Schedule: Apply 1 to 2 times daily, or as specifically prescribed by your attending veterinarian, continuing until 48 hours after clinical lesions have resolved.

• For topical external animal use only. Not for oral administration or ophthalmic (eye) use.

• Avoid Sensitive Areas: Do not spray near the eyes, nose, mouth, or inside deep ear canals. In case of accidental ocular contact, flush immediately with clean, lukewarm water.

• Licking Caution: Although topically safe, ingestion of wet spray may cause transient drooling or gastrointestinal upset due to bitter excipients. Allow the application to dry undisturbed.
