Target Parasite Spectrum

• Tapeworms (Cestodes): Dipylidium caninum (flea tapeworm), Taenia pisiformis, Taenia hydatigena, Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis.

• Roundworms (Ascarids): Toxocara canis, Toxascaris leonina (adult and late immature forms).

• Administration Instructions:

  • Direct Oral Route: The savory liver flavor means most dogs will take the tablet willingly from your hand or bowl.

  • Concealed with Food: For suspicious dogs, place the tablet (or halved portions) inside a small piece of meat, paneer, or a spoonful of wet food.

  • Fasting before or after administration is not required. Giving with a light meal minimizes potential gastric sensitivity.

• Routine Deworming Schedule:

  • Adult Dogs: Administer once every 3 months (quarterly) for routine preventive maintenance.

  • Puppies (Transitioning to Tablets): Use after 6 months of age on the quarterly routine (or earlier under veterinary advice following the pediatric liquid schedule).

  • Heavy Infestations: If confirmed by fecal examination, repeat treatment in 14 days as advised by your veterinarian to catch newly matured larvae.

Safety Warnings, Precautions & Storage

• Canine Use Only: Formulated specifically for dogs. Do NOT administer to cats. (Cats require feline-specific deworming formulations).

• Puppy Minimums: Do not use on puppies under 2 weeks of age or weighing less than 2 kg. (For very small puppies, use Drontal Puppy Suspension for precise volume titration).

• Pregnancy & Lactation: Do not use in pregnant dogs during the 1st and 2nd trimesters of pregnancy due to potential teratogenic risks linked to febantel at elevated doses. Consult your veterinarian for safe pregnancy deworming protocols.

• Drug Interactions: Do not use concurrently with piperazine compounds, as pyrantel and piperazine exert antagonistic neuromuscular actions.

• Tapeworm Note: Do not be alarmed if whole tapeworms are not visible in the stool post-dosing; praziquantel causes tapeworms to disintegrate and be digested internally.
