Clinical Indications

• Dermatophytosis (Ringworm): Generalized infections in dogs and cats caused by Microsporum canis, Microsporum gypseum, and Trichophyton mentagrophytes.

• Malassezia Dermatitis: Chronic or generalized yeast infections accompanied by hyperpigmentation, lichenification, greasy seborrhea, and severe odor.

• Onychomycosis: Fungal infections of the claws and nail beds requiring sustained, deep tissue drug concentration.

• Fungal Pododermatitis: Chronic interdigital fungal flare-ups unresponsive to surface washes alone.

Dosage & Administration Guidelines

Administer strictly according to your veterinarian’s written prescription and weight evaluation.

• Standard Therapeutic Dosage:

  • Dogs: Typically 30 mg to 40 mg per kg body weight orally once daily (or 20–30 mg/kg every 12 to 24 hours depending on clinical severity).

  • Cats: Typically 30 mg to 40 mg per kg body weight orally once daily (or as prescribed by a veterinary dermatologist for feline dermatophytosis).

• Administration Protocol:

  • Administer with or immediately after a meal; dietary lipids enhance oral bioavailability and gastrointestinal tolerance.

  • Can be administered directly by mouth or crushed and blended into a small portion of appetizing food.

• Treatment Duration:

  • Dermatophytosis: Usually continued for 21 to 30 days minimum (often until two consecutive negative fungal cultures or Woods lamp clearings are achieved).

  • Do not stop administration prematurely when outward skin lesions improve, as residual fungal spores in hair shafts can cause immediate relapse.
